Dr. Kayleigh MacIntosh

Doctor of Dental Surgery

Dr. Kayleigh MacIntosh grew up in the City of Kawartha Lakes and obtained her BSc from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick before graduating from dentistry at the University of Western Ontario in 2012. She has a diverse background practicing across the country, from Wiarton, Ontario, where she worked in both private practice and hospital settings providing care to children and people with special needs, to Red Deer, Alberta.

With over 12 years of experience, Dr. MacIntosh brings a wealth of knowledge to East City Dental. Since taking over the practice in 2021, she has been committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate dental care, always aiming to build strong relationships with her patients. Dr. MacIntosh values continuing education, regularly taking courses to ensure she provides the most up-to-date care. She has settled in Peterborough with her husband and two children to be closer to family.

Favourite Outdoor Activity: Kayleigh enjoys cross-country and downhill skiing.

Hobbies and Interests: She loves gardening and reality TV shows.

Family and Pets: Kayleigh and her husband Si have two beautiful children who keep them busy, and a sweet kitten named Rozee.

Alana

Office Manager

Alana is our newest team member, boasting over 20 years of experience in the dental field. She is an adventurer at heart, having hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in 2022. Alana ensures that our administrative processes are seamless and efficient.

Favourite Outdoor Activity: Skiing in the winter and camping in the summer.

Hobbies and Interests: Playing guitar and mandolin.

Favorite Restaurant in Peterborough: One Fine Food.

Jess

Dental Administrator

Jess joined East City Dental in 2023, bringing many years of customer service, administration, and community development experience. Jess studied international development in Ghana, West Africa during her Bachelor of Arts at Trent University. She works part-time in administration and handles the clinic’s social media, ensuring everything runs smoothly and to keep our patients entertained

Hobbies and Interests: Jess loves being creative and growing things, from houseplants to gardens filled with local native plant species.

Favourite TV Show or Movie: Law and Order SVU and classic movies.

Miscellaneous Interests: True crime podcasts, swimming, and geography quizzes.

Brittany

Certified Dental Assistant

Brittany is a Certified Level II Dental Assistant and occasional office administrator. She completed her Bachelor of Health Science degree at McMaster University, where she was also a varsity athlete in lacrosse. With 11 years in the dental industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge and versatility to our team. Brittany has also volunteered internationally, teaching in East Africa for almost a year.

Hobbies and Interests: Cooking, hiking, practicing yoga, and humming to our office music.

Favourite Restaurants in Peterborough: La Hacienda, Matsu Sushi, and Rare.

Favourite TV Show or Movie: The Lord of the Rings.

Family and Pets: Brittany is an active mother to two boys.

Megan

Registered Dental Hygienist

Megan has been with East City Dental for her entire 21-year career, following in her father, Dr. Galbraith’s, footsteps. She graduated with honours from Algonquin College in 2002 and has continued her education to stay current in the dental hygiene field. Known for her gentle and thorough care, Megan strives to make every patient feel comfortable and informed.

Hobbies and Interests: Gardening and taking long walks with her dog, Gus.

Family and Pets: Megan enjoys spending time with her family at the lake.

Carrie

Registered Dental Hygienist

With over 20 years in the dental field, Carrie brings a wealth of experience and a big smile to East City Dental. She started as a dental assistant and became a dental hygienist in 2009. Known for her friendly personality and sense of humour, Carrie is all about making your dental visit a positive and educational experience. She’s great at creating a comfortable environment for patients of all ages and takes pride in developing personalized hygiene plans that fit each patient’s unique needs. Building strong, lasting relationships with her patients is what Carrie values most.

Favourite Outdoor Activity: Exploring new trails with her dogs, boating and kayaking with family and friends.

Hobbies and Interests: Pulling weeds in the garden!

Family and Pets: Carrie is the proud mother of two outgoing boys and married to her high school sweetheart for 25 years.
